Execution of the plan
At this moment all compulsory course elements are completed except for the exercise part of 7S532. Completion of this course will take place in Februari 2012.
Of the mentioned optional course elements, only the first two are actually followed and completed. The other courses didn’t fit in the agenda of the compulsory elements and project work. So instead of these courses, I chose to follow the following courses:
7N208 (Bestuur en organisatie) In which I reported on the organization of a complete concert tour of the classical music society Quadrivium, as part of the organization competency I wanted to gather by following 7R750 and with collaboration processes.
7S320 Building Safety In which the fire safety design aspect is dealt with. Based on my experiences at Nelissen Ingenieursbureau as ‘Projectmedewerker’ I found that fire safety design is a very important and influencing aspect in the building design context. This course satisfies my intention to gain more experience in the building process in total.
With respect to the master projects, I completed the M1 project as mentioned, a design based project. The subject of the M2 project however, wasn’t the one I mentioned in the portfolio plan. At the moment I wanted to start with my M2 project, no SET project was available. Instead of Sustainable Energy, I performed a project in sustainable material technology: “Application of waste glass in concrete”. In contrast with my M1 project, this project was purely research based.
My graduation project already started and is an acoustical research project. The subject is: The Effect of the Acoustics of a Cinema on the Reproduction of a Movie Soundtrack. This graduation project will fulfill my wish to gain more knowledge in acoustics and acoustical research.
